I emigrated from my native Scotland to the USA in the eighties. I have lived in Southern California, Eastern Washington and Arizona. I moved to the Clark County area over 23 years ago.
My first career was in microelectronics and computer architecture. I started in engineering, transitioned to management, operations, executive leadership, and business management. I worked in start-ups, fortune 500 corporations and everything in between. I was involved in M&A, both acquiring and being acquired. I was proudest of the many new jobs that we helped to create.
My biggest customers could be in Asia and my critical suppliers in Europe - my hometown has a population of 10,000 people where everything is local, I missed the local connection. When I left my corporate career, I wanted to stay engaged with commerce but be more active in our community. Therefore, I am using my business experience to help small businesses that are in transition, often in my own neighborhood.
Transworld is a franchise, so our office is very much a local office, able to be part of the Clark County Business Community. That said, our network is the largest of its kind, so we can bring tremendous resources to solve problems and address the needs of each buyer and seller.
